Dr. Christopher Berg

Dr. Christopher Berg serves as the dean of Hartwell Divinity School and the Director of The Fortress program. He earned his Ph.D. in Theology and Apologetics from Liberty University and his M.A. in Christian Apologetics from BIOLA. His doctoral dissertation is titled “Purging the New Age: A Theological Analysis of New Age Practices Used by the Church.” He also published a book based on the dissertation titled “The New Age Trojan Horse.” Dr. Berg’s research interests include the doctrine of the Word of God with a focus on the resuts of walking away from the sufficiency and supremacy of Scripture.

Dr. Berg is also the pastor of a small conservative house church in Durham, NC where he resides with his family of four. In addition to serving at HDS, Dr. Berg serves as Senior Lecturer for “Creation Tours” with an emphasis on intellegent design in life. He also enjoys in working in the global church has has conducted evangelistic apologetics at universities in countries around the world, including Pakistan, Taiwan, Wales, England, Poland, Ukraine, and South Africa.

Dr. Dave Greear

Dr. Dave Greear has a unique background that includes both technical and theological education. He earned a D.Min from Northland International University and a M.Div from Bob Jones University. Dave’s doctoral dissertation is titled “A Presuppositional Apologetic Overview of Genesis 1:1-3:19” which includes an exegesis of Gesis coupled with scientific and worldview implications.

Dave spent 22 years working in college campus ministries in South Carolina and West Virginia. During that time he taught on Genesis, Creationism, and Christian apologetics. Dave has also pastored two churches for a total of 6 years. In additiona to being a Hartwell Divinity School faculty member, he also serves as a part-time teacher for “Creation Tours” in Raleigh, NC, a ministry that leads creation-based tours in public science museums. Dave is also a board member for TASC (Triangle Association for the Science of Creation) based in Raleigh, NC.

Ms. Jessica Reid

Jessica Reid earned her M.Div at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with an emphasis in Biblical Counseling. She serves as Hartwell Divinity School’s Assistant Professor of Women’s Discipleship. Her research interests include Biblical/Nouthetic Counseling and the pedagogical methodology of women’s discipleship in Church settings.

For the last 6 years Ms. Reid has supervised, led, and structured women’s discipleship groups at her local church. Additionally, Ms. Reid served as a facilitator in her local church’s counseling program.
